The Icon Group Learning Portal is a free, online site that shares Icon Group specialists presentations, videos, podcasts and blogs on pertinent cancer and haematology related topics.
Topics are based on research, questions raised by patients and reasons doctors and specialists may seek advice or refer. The content is embedded in the site which means no external software is required.
Users are able to save their viewed content into their profile that may be used for self-directed learning CPD points with their college.
Also, users are able to comment or ask questions with our specialists through the dedicated chat function within each content piece.
To create an account, click on 'create new account' to complete the registration form.
Users will require an Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or prescriber number to use this site. If a user does not have one of these numbers they may choose to have a registered health professional edorse their use of the site by providing their name.
The user will be sent an email to confirm their subscription for the site which they must click on to activate their account.
Once confirmed the user will then be taken to the home page where they can log in.
On the login page there are easy to use referral forms for both Radiation Oncology Centres and Icon Cancer Care for doctors and specialists to refer to one of our clinicians. Simply click on ‘download referral form’ to access the modifiable pdf.
The main page includes the latest content uploaded to the site.
A search function is available that allows users to search by keyword, or advance search by one or more items including the contributors name, topic or content type (presentation, blog, video or podcast).
Users can find the latest featured content in the panel on the right hand side of the home page.
Simply click on the link of the contribution to view the content.
For videos and podcasts, simply select the play button.

For presentations select 'click to view presentation'. Users will be taken to the location of the presentation to view. Users will not need any further software to view these.
Users may choose to save their viewed content by selecting the 'add to my saved content list'.
The 'your saved content' section allows users to save any content they may have read, watched or listened to. Users may consider using this content for self-directed learning CPD points with their college. Please note this site does not provide points for any colleges.
Users may engage in discussion with specialists in the dedicated chat function at the end of each contribution page. Messages left will be replied to by the specialist as soon as possible, please note it may take several days to respond.
Each contribution has the doctors (contributors) profile on the right hand side with a link to their bio. There is also a link an easy to use referral form in this panel.
